General Questions

Everyone is welcome.  Whether you live in Des Moines, Urbandale, West Des Moines, Granger, Grimes, Ames, Polk City, Chicago, New York, California, or anywhere in between YOU ARE WELCOME here!  There are no restrictions on who can receive our free services.

We have 2 locations in Des Moines. Our west location is located at 1355 50th Street, Suite 400. Just across the street from Grumpy Goat! Our south location is located at 520 Army Post Road, next to Wells Fargo Bank.

We are able to best serve you with an appointment, however, walk-ins are welcome.  We will do our best to get you in as quickly as possible, however, there may be a wait, or we may need to reschedule you a different day depending on our patient load that day. We do not prescribe medications at this time. We offer the full medical information you need at no cost to you. This takes financial pressure off of you as you decide what is the next best step for you. Our clinics specialize in pregnancy verification and sexual health education which includes STD/STI testing.

Appointments

Your confidentiality is our priority. To ensure your confidentiality please bring your driver’s license or school ID. For pregnancy and STD/STI testing, you will need to provide a urine sample. Please drink a bottle of water before you come to your appointment. If you are unable to, we can provide you with a bottle of water. 

Your health and safety is our priority. Due to Covid, we ask that you wear a mask and our staff will also be wearing masks.

You do not need parental consent, however, we do encourage you to talk with your parents or someone that is safe, about your sexual health and concerns. Support of friends and family can make all the difference as you make health decisions.

Insurance is not needed or accepted.  All of our services are free regardless of income, race, demographic, religious, or sexual preference.

Please contact us in advance, this will allow us to see others who may be waiting. We will work with you to reschedule at a more convenient time.

Yes, your partner or significant other is allowed to come. We are allow one additional person to come with you to your appointment to help keep you and others safe and to aid in social distancing

STD's

We will collect a urine sample. We recommend you drink a bottle of water in preparation for your test.

Testing includes both blood and urine. Tests are then sent to the lab for detection.

Chlamydia, Gonorrhea, Syphilis, Herpes 1 & 2, HIV 1 & 2, and Hepatitis C. Your nurse will perform a health questionnaire and educate you on what you are eligible for testing that day.

Your confidential test is sent to an outside lab. We will schedule an appointment for you to receive your results in 5-7 days.

There are multiple options for treatment and we may be able to provide a treatment either way your nurse will go over treatment options with you and make a plan to ensure you get the care you need.

Pregnancy Test

We use a medical-grade urine pregnancy test. While the test can detect a low amount of hormone it is best to wait until you miss a period before taking the test.

Yes, we are able to provide the results to you during your appointment.

Ultrasound

Ultrasounds are performed by Registered Nurses who are trained in Limited Obstetric Ultrasounds.

An ultrasound should not hurt, if you feel uncomfortable please let your nurse know.

Our ultrasounds answer 3 specific questions you may have about your potential pregnancy:

  1. Is the pregnancy in the right place?
  2. Is the pregnancy viable (is there a heartbeat)?
  3. How far along am I?

All of our services are free. No cost or co-pay. The value of the services we offer in a typical visit is $800. The costs are completely offset by individuals in our community that believe sexual health care and education should be free.
